Exciting Times Ahead

Trustees of Pennine Community have kindly agreed to help Wakefield RDA make the first steps towards developing their facilities.

The word is spreading! Wakefield RDA is THE place to ride and learn about horses. With a large increase in riders and more school groups participating in the Healthy Schools programme - we have now outgrown our small stable yard.

Pennine and Spawforth Associates are working with Carolyn and Carol at RDA to produce initial sketches and plans to create a stunning new courtyard style stable yard.

Other fantastic facilities will include a large classroom and an extension onto the side of the existing indoor school to provide much needed volunteer & rider facilities, spectator seating & reception area.

These are exciting times for Wakefield RDA, and we are well aware that there will be lots of hard work ahead, especially raising the funds to build our new Therapeutic Riding Centre.

Lots of thanks to our fab instructor Sarah Huntridge and her friends from Harrogate. They created a WRDA Christmas present scheme and donated gifts for our ponies and riders.

Congratulations to our volunteer Joanne Hall who starts a 12 week residential course in August at the Northern Racing College in Doncaster.

Regional Dressage Training

There will be an RDA Regional Dressage Training day at Wakefield RDA on Sunday 27th April. The training event is open to any RDA rider in the NE & S Yorks Region. The sessions will concentrate on improving your test riding and the trainer will be Cathy Burrell a BHS Intermediate instructor and our Northern BD Para rep.
