THANK YOU! to Co-Operative Community Foundation who have just awarded Wakefield RDA a grant to purchase Maisie.

 

Thank you to all the riders who came to the dressage yesterday, I hope everyone enjoyed their day here -  it's great to meet everyone. The classes were big so if you won a rosette - you really earned it!!

Well done to everyone who warmed up in the field, I know it wasn't ideal but we would have lost the daylight if we hadn't run the two prelim's side by side.

Your entries and tuck shop money will help us pay for things like farrier and vet fees, feed and equipment.  

A BIG Thank you also to the team here who helped make the event run smoothly, Sarah T and Chantelle, Sara, Katie and Bev, Carol, Sarah G, Viv and David.

The times for dressage on Sunday 30th October are below.  

If you can't open the documents please phone 07906 043 224 for times.

Please note which arena you are competing in and where your designated warming up place is. Due to the large amount of entries this time we are using both schools for the Prelim tests, so some classes will warm up in the field below the indoor school.

We hope this will not cause too many problems, if you are worried about your safety on the day please speak to one of our RDA staff or volunteers.

And remember the clocks go back this weekend so you can have an extra hour in bed!

Good Luck and thank you for entering our competition, all entry fees go towards the upkeep of our RDA ponies.

Sponsored Rides

There are Sponsored Rides for Wakefield RDA riders and volunteers on Wednesday 10th and Friday 12th August. Entries are now closed. Riders will be taking various routes around Newmillerdam Woods and the surrounding fields.

Sunday 2nd October

Sponsored ride from HMP Newhall, Flockton. To raise funds for Dial Wood Carriage Driving Group and Wakefield RDA. A 12 mile route made up mainly of quiet tracks and bridlepaths. Oliver at the National Championships

 

Oliver had a brilliant time at the RDA National Championships last weekend. He rode Hillbro' Crispin owned by Elaine Goodall from Otley RDA.

Oliver scored 66.11% in his Championship Dressage test and finished in 8th place - he was awarded a Highly Commended rosette.

He rode his Freestyle walk/trot test in torrential rain - at one point he couldn't see the other end of the arena through the rain!  However, he rode really well and finished in 4th place with 69%.

Oliver also won first prize in the Arts & Crafts Sculpture Competition (for the 3rd year running).

Huge thanks go to Sarah and Leanne for helping Oliver in the run-up to the competition as well as on the day itself
